The Murri Binda Consortium is a collective of seven founding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisations, working together to strengthen the health and wellbeing of our people across the Murri Binda catchment, including Rockhampton, Gladstone, Woorabinda, the Central Highlands, the Central West, and surrounding areas.
We represent the needs and interests of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and human services sector, ensuring our communities have a strong and unified voice.
We are committed to creating localised, place-based approaches that ensure Traditional Owners and community members shape our priorities and direction.
Our work includes building strong partnerships with education, legal, employment, and training providers to enhance opportunities and outcomes for our people.
We actively engage with our communities to inform policies, influence practice, and support meaningful evaluation of services and programs.
We strive to improve the cultural safety, quality, and accessibility of services for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our region.
Our Consortium fosters collaboration, connection, and the sharing of knowledge and best practices among our member services.
We are dedicated to responding to the needs of our most vulnerable, ensuring no one is left behind.
We encourage and support innovation in how services are designed and delivered, placing community voices at the centre.
We focus on developing and retaining a strong, culturally capable workforce that reflects and respects our communities.
We coordinate funding efforts to maximise impact and benefit for all member organisations.
We will not undertake any activity that competes with, disadvantages, or diminishes the operations or reputations of our member organisations.
